Beer Wars Movie Coming Out April 16th
I went to the movies last weekend and saw a preview trailer for the upcoming Beer Wars Movie.

I did some checking around to see if anyone had reviewed this movie, or had feedback on it and the best one I found was from Boston.com and the article there basically told me all I needed to know.
Beer Wars Movie is about the “craft” of micro-brewing. I put craft in quotes ( “”) because some people refer to it as crafting, which sounds kind of high-handed to me and a bit snobby.
Anyhoo, the movie is about the micro-brew movement and there’s a bit of a Michael Moore angle here since the slant, or angl eis that large brewing companies are the real Axis of Evil and that the small “indies”, or small microbrew companies are force of liberty and justice for all.
There’s a bit of a debate going on with this whole “Us versus Them” in the microbrew movement but some of the more realistic purists know that the big microbrewers are totally dominating market share, but they’ll be hard-pressed to gain market share in the microbrew markets due to the fact that if Coors, A-B or other big companies keep mass-producing their Amber Bock brands, it will only introduce those beer drinkers to a new world of beer drinking.
Long story short, once you go Bock you never go Back, as they say, and since the microbrewers like Sam Adams have a following and are purists even tohugh they’re mass-producing as well, it’s still has a loyal following and it is tapping into people’s creative side as well since you can make your own home brew if you were so inclined.
Is big business bad? NO
Is increasing the stockholders stock value bad? NO
Does beer snobbery exist? YES, and that’s why there will always be a craft movement with ever-increasing numbers of loyalists.
So, I say let the big dogs pump out the Bud Lights and let the “indies” give us tailor-made brews that meet our “elevated” taste buds’ expectations.
